
Beth joined Birketts in February 2019. She is an Associate in our Planning and Environmental Team.
Beth has a strong focus on planning and infrastructure matters advising a range of clients including developers, landowners and local government including Section 106 Agreements, Section 278 Agreements and Section 104 Agreements.
Beth specialises in custom and self-build housebuilding acting in a variety of planning applications, appeals and providing strategic development advice.
Beth is also an expert in the Community Infrastructure Levy regularly providing advice to local government and developers. Beth acts as an advisor on energy infrastructure including nationally significant infrastructure projects, development consent orders and compulsory purchase orders for a wide variety of clients.
Experience & education
Prior to joining Birketts, Beth completed her Legal Practice Course with distinction at BPP Law School in Cambridge. She then trained and worked in-house for Suffolk County Council.
Recent work examples
Negotiated and agreed a bespoke Custom and Self-Build Section 106 Agreement with the LPA for a development within a rural exception site.
Community Infrastructure Levy advice for a re-development of land and buildings within the curtilage of a listed building to successfully reduce the CIL Liability.
Provided strategic planning advice in relation to the development of a hydrogen electrolyser to a major renewable energy company.
Representing a rule 8 interested party in a Development Consent Order and negotiating protections and side agreements with the promoter of the scheme.
